WELCOME TO RUBIN HALL
NYU Rubin Hall is a First Year Residential Experience (FYRE) community made up of about 680 first year residents! Rubin's community represents over 32 countries and more than 45 states from here in the US. Located on the Northeast corner of 5th Avenue and 10th St, Rubin residents live in the historic Greenwich Village Area and are just a five minute walk from the NYU Washington Square Park Area!
Rubin boasts a recently renovated, air conditioned lounge taking up our entire second floor, featuring a black box theater, a mirrored dance room, a sound proofed piano room, as well as a large TV and lounge area, a quiet study space, and the offices of our three professional staff members!
In addition to our 2 live-in Professional Staff Members, Rubin is also home to our Faculty Fellows in Residence (FFIRs) Heidi White and Mike Shenefelt, who are faculty in Liberal Studies and Global Liberal Studies! Our FFIRs do a plethora of programming throughout the year that peaks their and residents' interests! Rubin is also home to NYU's Senior Vice President for Student Affairs Marc Wais.
Rubin's community is comprised of 13 residential floors, each with it's own Resident Assistant (RA), supporting and developing their respective floor community. Supporting the RC, Rubin has 1 Resource Center Assistant (RCA) who helps to develop the overall building community through the Resource Center. Rubin has an Expository Writing Stream on the 16th Floor dedicated to examining Inequality and Justice. Rubin is also supported by our stellar Hall Council: Student Undergraduate Government @ Rubin, or SUG@R for short!
